Default vortech new driver

I have 2 vortech pumps working my 110 gal reef for about 6 months and in that time I blew out 2. drivers. they replaced them both but until recently I didnt realize that my wavemaster was burning out the driver. when I spoke to icecap they told me I could upgrade to the new driver which incorporates a wavemaker type system.they cost and additional 75$ a piece. im kind of stuck in a bad spot, my wavemaker is new but wont work with the vortech.any suggestions. guess itle go on e bay

let see what the company respond is. I am thinking about getting one, yet if it only last for six months like you said, I would not invest my money in it.
Thanks for letting the info out.

To me wave makers are an enormous waste of money.First of all the amount of flow put out by a wavemaker is just like a f**t in a wind storm.Second 2 vortechs can put out 6,000 gph in flow,on a wave maker that is cut in half because only one pump is running at a time. Now you have two pumps that are toast. Was it worth it?

As someone who actually owns a vortech...I highly recommend the wavedrivers. They are not like your typical wavemakers. They have various modes such as reef crest, lagoon, pulse, wave, etc. You can even program your own wave patterns.

I don't regret spending the extra 150 bucks that fully realizes the potential of the vortech pumps.
