just hooked up my RO system (Pain in the ass) just wanted to know if the water coming out of the pure end was coming out correctly.. im gettin about 3-4 drops of water a second.. that right??

how many gallons per day is ur unit?

100 gpd.. it goes from like 3-4 drops per sec than push a lil more out than slower and so on..

ok 64 drops=1 teaspoon....48 teaspoons= 1 cup....16 cups= 1 gallon.
So there is roughly 3072 drops per cup, which in turn would be 49152 drops per gallon.

I may have done that wrong, but if that is right and you add the time into the factor, you will get your answer.

As for my sources, I used googles measuring thing to determine those numbers, then did the math on a calculator.

ok if thats right.. my system is off im gettin about 8400 drops per hr.. 201600 per day.. would be ... 4.10 gallons a day ..lol... dont think thats right hehee

man I felt like a genious, ok try this. Get a 5 gallon jug and time how long it takes to fill then do the multiply by 20. That will give you your answer.

lol.. also i checked the water with my tds meter my tap is reading 40-45 and ro water reading about 111.. is that cus its new?

it has to be something with the water presure and i dont think im gonna try and figure that out.. so i might just sell this thing lol and buy my Ro from the store.. im not a mechanical type person

Well, before you panic & sell the farm. Have you let the storage tank fill & charge? I just set one up this weekend, it doesen't have half the capacity of yours but I'm getting plenty of water out of it. It did just trikle & spit until the tank filled up though.

Sometimes when a unit is first setup the water that comes out initially is poor so I always toss the first 5 gallons. Also, whatever container you use for your RO/DI water, only use it for RO/DI water. If your container had contaminants in it, it would give off a high TDS reading. You don't know what type of contaminants are inside of the unit from the manufacturing process. A typical RO/DI unit will only produce about 1/2 of their rated capacity. The rated capacity is rated as if the incoming water is 77 degrees and 50psi. Usually, the RO/DI unit is connected, for good reasons, to only the cold water supply line. Because the incoming water is so cold, you'll get a much lower production rate. Couple that by the fact that often the water pressure at the unit is lower than 50psi, and you get the slower rate.

If the unit is still producing poor water after the initial 5 gallons, you should look at two things. First, is the unit hooked up correctly and second, what is your water pressure. Low water pressure not only decreases your production rate, it also will decrease the rejection rate.

no storge tanks.. was just gonna use it for water changes about 5 gallons a week or so..it is hooked up to the cold line as the instructions said so.. i thought today it might be the way i have the needle clamp thingy hooked up.. the line that its hooked up to, is almost like a vinyl hose and the clamp is tight on the hose, also im getting a lil drip from the cold line hose.. maybe i should get a different type hose/pipe for it. i also seen another option to hook the water line come from the faucet nozzle that has a valve on it to switch to Ro back to reg water.. gotta check my options.

At my old house, I had my RO unit hooked up to a faucet. I liked that fact that you can crack open the hot water line to get the incoming water temp a touch higher to increase the production rate, but overall I didn't like it that much since then you have RO tubing from the faucet to the RO unit. The option that I prefer the best instead of tapping a water line is to get the inline tee type of fitting where it has a tee with valve for the RO line and threaded ends for connection to the sink line.
