| anyone used one of these? The LFS had one that was covered in dust so I offered them $100 for it, basicly for the body. I removed the 1/2" o.d. stock drain fitting replaced it with a 3/4" i.d. fitting with a gate valve outlet. Also added a 250GPH needle wheel recirculation pump. I was trying to mod it up like this one here lol ![]() I dont have very big air pumps, so I hooked up my childs nebulizar machine.... With water level about 5~6" below top of skimmer it was full of thick foam in no time.....now I just gotta find a pump to match that airflow.

| Im not sure what it was rated for I know it kicks a hell of alot more now than it did before, I was told it would be good for a 200g system the way it was, I doubt that but it may now!

| so my needle wheel pump broke,,,,, looks like I am gonna have to order another one, so I am gonna order two and make it a double recirculation *hopefully* that will be enough to get rid of the air stones

| So the 2 needle wheel pumps have been purchased hopefully they get here by mid~week so I can finish this thing up. Maybe I will take a picture or two of the high tech method I used to make my new over sized holes in the round skimmer body. I also plan to mesh mod both of the pumps.

| how could I figure out what kind a rating this skimmer would have? ![]() the stock in let is3/8 I belive and the stock drain was 1/2". It will have a 3/4 " drain and 1/2" inlet, 2 250 gph recirculation need wheels that will be mesh modded. considered 3/4" inlet & 1"outlet would this be better option to do? I considered having this gravity fed along side the main drain instead of being fed by pump. What would be a gph flow to have feed the skimmer? o yea poop my need wheel pumps wont be here till friday owell.

| I ended up changing my oulet setup, I used some sink drain plumbing that allows me to slide my drain pipe up and down to adjust my level of water works out great ![]() ![]() I have it sitting on top of a small tank that has about 10 gal of water including whats in the skimmer body, also contains about 30-40lbs of LR after playing with this thing for a while trying to get some decent foam that wasnt water bubbles, Couldnt get much so I put a decent sized chunk of frozen whole silversides in a net and placed them in water water is about 3.5"~4" from top off skimmer body ![]() Riser tube ![]() ![]() ![]() I will take more pics in the morn after its broke in a little more and post them,
