Default bulb placement

i currently have two 96 watt pc light retrofits in my canopy. i was just wondering if it will make a difference as to the bulb placement. should the actinic bulb be near the front of the tank with the daylight bulb near the back or vice versa?

There are more than a few people who give a lot of credence to bulb placement.I have always figured that with blbs 4 inch's over the water causing some initial diffusion and the water causing a lot of diffusion, placement becomes minimal in importance if you have 4 bulbs in two colors every other one is as good as it gets.

A lot of folks put the atinics in front.

Experiment what works for you.

Ditto. Many people put the lower k bulbs over the corals to get better growth and the actinics in the front for coloration and "glow"
