is there any reason that i shouldn't place my two heaters behind the corner overflo where the drain line and return line are?

Default Re: heater placement

That's where my heaters are currently at. They were placed their initially when I upgraded to my new setup 4 months ago and I was going to move them down to my sump, but I haven't moved them yet because of where my power plugs are located. The one thing that I've been noticing is that the heaters aren't keeping up very well, even though they are all functioning correctly and I have plenty of watts. I think the cause may be that the high water turnover/flow rate through the overflow area may cause the heaters to be less effective for some reason. I don't know why that would be, but it might be a possibility, similar to how too high of flow near macroalgae reduces how many nutrients the algae can take up. It would make more sense to me if the high flow around the heaters would improve their performance.

thanks for your response,i think i will try putting the heaters there to see how well they work.if not i will put them in the sump.there just aren't too many places in the sump that they will fit.i could get one on the refugium side and one where the return pump is.
