do any of you guys have an ASM skimmer?i bought the G1 model and it came with no directions.it has an adjustable venturi tube.i figure that i have to adjust the tube until the foam starts to overflow and fill the collection cup.any guidance would be appreciated.

I don't have that kind but mine you adjust your air so that the foam is at
the throat.
the foam will build and push up into the collection cup, you don't want wet foam, theres alot of water then.

I have the ASM g4 plus...

I also have the gate-valve mod done.

Just adjust the grey tube, til the foaming bubble are say at the top of the neck before the collection cup, let it stay there for a few days to break in, after a day or so, you'll see the foam making it into your collection cup.

ASM -- GOOD CHOICE!



PS: I do reccomend the Gate-Valve mod, it'll let you dial in your skimmer much much easier!!

Here's my g1 labled. I didnt have the pump on when this pic was taken, the grey overflow tube is inside the sponge, and you adjust the height of the tube to adjust the height of the water/air mix inside the skimmer.



Start with the air/water bubble line breaking about where the verticle part of the skimmer neck starts then adjust up as needed till you are pulling the skimmate you want.
