Default Protien skimmer bubbles?

I finally jst got done building a sump to hold my new Octopus protien skimmer. I notice though that when the water comes back into the tank through the sump all the microbubbles are being shot back into the tank casuing my water to look cloudy. Is there anything I can do to eliminate those bubbles from going back into the tank?

I would try to keep the skimmer away from the return pump, install baffles and put the skimmer before the baffles...that might help....if you already tried allof this and still have the problem, show us a pic of the sump, other more experienced members might be able to see the problem.

Please let us know how your sump is arranged and how much water is flowing through it. Generally, you want your skimmer to be in the first pump section with the water leaving it going through a series of baffles (over-under-over) to prevent microbubbles from getting to your return pump area.

if you have your baffles setup correctly could your return line be sucking air from a bad fitting?
