Default new light!

ok i have a 24 gallon aquapod with a 150 watt MH 14,000K bulb and the bulb is almost a year old, i am going to replace it with a new 14,000K bulb......shuld i expect a algae bloom? btw i have a 13 gallon sump with lots of chaeto, and in main tNK I have almost zero algae.

Not 100 percent positive but i would think a new light would cause the reverse. the old light would be the one causing the alage because the spectrum moves toward the red side which causes the alage where as the new one is on the blue side but not 100 percent sure . good prices on diyreef.com and reefgeek.com

Ebay as well. I've been getting HQI MH replacment bulbs on ebay for $21 and you can choose between 20k
15K 14K & 10K

I think alot has to do with personal choice. 10k white to 20k blue look.

The bulb definately needs to be replaced.
