I have one running and it works great. No real advice on optimal performance just plug it in and it will skim once it is broke in. Just wash it in water, NO SOAP before you use it.

I have one.. if you bought the one with the drain fitting in the collection cup have the tube drain back into the aquarium cuase your going to get alot of water and bubbles in the cup because its new, you might also get alot of microbubbles for the first couple of weeks wich will go away in time.. the only thing i dont like about mine is the spray injector is a lil bit to noisey. but all other aspects its a real good skimmer.

i got the skimer and had it running for about a month now. The skimmer is still giving me a thin skimate. Very watery and it is filling up the cup about everyday. i dont know whats the problem. I noticed this moring that my lights are resting atop the outlet tube i am going to modify the canopy and see if i can make it level. I dont think this would be the problem. right?

mine took a while.. really about 2 months before i was getting the good brown stuff.. i was going crazy with the bubbles overflowing through the air whole in the lid i had to put a sponge on top of it.. but just give it some more time and should be working great
