 Closed Loop I always here the term closed loop systems. Can someone specificly explain what closed loop means?  |

| Closed loop is basically a pump that sucks water out of your tank, and then pumps it back in, its like a replacement to powerheads. Instead of having a powerhead in your tank, you would have a return pipe coming from your main closed loop pump. Make sense? |

| I have overflows so water exits my tank do to gravity and water level. All of my return water is from my pump. I guess I do not fully understand. I understand that if my pump is not on then the overflows get low and the siphon stops. So techniclly I'm not sucking water from my tank. |

| Benefits are you don't have poweheads with little cords sticking out of your tank. Other than that none. The closed loop system is usually in addition to your sump/return system. |
