Depending on the seize of the tank and the scaping dead spots will be minimal. I believe that they have a vary wide range of flow-not to mention strong (so there will be quite a bit of reflection off of the walls.

Wesley,

You make a good point. The average tank that has a stack of live rock against the glass will always have dead spots. That is the main culprits in tanks "crashing."

To alleviate this problem, I chose to have a more "open" look. I only have one dead spot in my tank..and that is because I have one rock too close to the side of the glass.

The vortech has a "undertow"affect which helps lift detritus in the water column. I have yet to find this feature in any other pump in the market. It also has a very wide flow...practically across my 75 gal !
