Newbie looking for advice

Hey! I just joined this site for i could look for tips and advice for my new aquarium. I got a 65 gallon red sea max. It it is doing fie except the protein skim. broke but i will be getting a new one from Red Sea in about a week. I am hoping to do a reef but i am still debating weather i should. I really like lionfish and losts of other non-reef safe fish:crybaby: But i got really good lights that will handle corals and i would not like to waste them. And also i really like clowns and i like both clarkies(?) and perculas, so I know im not supposed to keep both kinds together but is it possible to? Also how do i feed corals? And would you reccomend
ordering fish online or getting them at my fish store? And any other advice would be nice. Thanks in advance!

I'm getting back into the marine aquarium hobby again after being out of it for 25 years. There has been a lot of progress and major changes since I first tried it.
I have 2, 110gal(US), one is a fresh water planted tank and the other is an African cichlid tank. I am going to convert the African tank into a reef tank with sps and lps corals and some fish. I'm in the middle of doing a lot of research about the hobby and have started buying some of the equipment that I will need.
I look forward to chatting with members here and getting advice and tips from you.

Hello-just wanted to stop in and say hi ! I have been a member for a while , more of a lurker than a typer though. I have been in the hobbie for a couple of years now. I have a 75 gallon reef in progress that has been up and running for about year now after the unfortunate disaster that struck my 24 gal nano tank. Yup just sitting around the house one weekend and all the sudden there was this loud crack and water started gushing all over the place. Made a mad dash to local fishstore to get the new tank ! What an experience that was, thank god it happened on the weekend when we were home-cant imagine what that would have been like walking in from a long day at work lol !!:o Looking forward to posting future threads and comments. May need help in the future so this looks to be a good place to go !

new to saltwater

I have had freshwater aquariums for over 10 years.
I was dying to try saltwater and eventually move up into corals.

I have a 55 gallon with 50 pounds of live rock
4-6 inch DSB
30 gallon tank as a sump with skimmer and
trying to start up a refugium maybe with mangrove
right now I have a small bunch of macroalgae

fr critters I only have a small clean up crew.

I have figured out the 3 fish I want as a goal
Clownfish
(part of the deal with my 4 kids)
mandarin goby
flame angel

I want corals eventually but would like the system up and running for months with no probs first.
