Does anyone happen to know how to tell the difference between the male and female then?

Like I said, I would discourage breeding until you have been a successful hobbyist for several years. Until you get a tank and can keep just a regular system going I would not take on additional endeavors.

Pleco, a while ago I tried to breed some neon gobies. I was very disapointed because I did not do enough research and was not experienced enough. One goby died, then about a week later the other one died as well. they were a amted pair.

Yeah. I have to say, please do not get into this hobby. This is not for you. I can tell from your questions that you have not taken us seriously when we encouraged you to read outside of this site. You have a "I want everything right now" attitude with little concern as to how all of this works. I foresee much death in your system. Any responsibile hobbyist would not encourage you to take up this hobby because of something called ethics.

I wouldnt discourage anybody from trying to start a breeding a program as long as they research the needs of the fish. Everytime somebody starts a successful breeding program, thats less strain on their wild counter parts.

If I were you pleco, I would be talking to marine ecologists about raising rotifers. L strain inparticular. You will need to be able to successfully raise rotifers before you even attpempt to raise any fry. Fry eat rotifers and other planktonic LIVE foods. Be prepared for rotifer grow out systems to crash several times before you get it right. Then you can focus on a breeding program.

Artemia is too big for newborn larval to eat. You'll need to feed rotifers atleast the first week.

Heres good site with info on Rotifers

Rotifer Eggs

If you're serious about doing it, you'll wanna look into something like this eventually.
High-Density Rotifer Systems

Im assuming from your name and all the questions youve been asking that you breed freshwater fish. Its a little different when it comes to saltwater. You're use to dealing with raising farmed fish from multigenrations of farmed fish, saltwater isnt like that. If you feed powdered food to larval, or TRY to, you're going have a lot of dead babies.
