if it looks like a wart or pimpil its has Lymphocystis. it is a viral problem with the fish and as far as i know it is not contagious. my bannerfish had that a few weeks ago, he had like 3 big warts light pink in color on the side of his mouth. for that virus to go away it all depends on the fish's immune system. i think it usually takes 2-6 weeks to go away i think. as long as the fish keeps eating and staying healthy you have nothing to worry about imo. you should google it and read more about it so you get your own opinion on it. mine is that it will be fine in the display tank as long as it keeps eating and looks healthy. as far as i know there is no medication for it. butterfly and angles are more prone to this virus then the other fish so its odd that your maroon came down with Lymphocystis if thats what it has.

another thing i read about it was that you can get a razor and shave it off of the clown but i would not recommend it because it will really stress it out making it more prone to disease and death.
