Default Blue Green Chromis Discoloration

I have a pair of Blue Green Chromis and yesterday on of them was discolored. This scales on the one side looked cloudy or milky white. However this is not the case today I believe. What could have caused this?

Many fish can go through a color change when they are stressed or sleeping. If you look at your fish right when the lights turn on they may seem bland in color for a while.

My Yellow Tang would turn pale and have darker blotches on its sides (almost brown) whenever the lights were out and it was sleeping in the rocks. A few minutes after lights on and swimming around, he would be back to his bright yellow color.

I wonder if something similar was happening to your chromis or if it was stressed for some reason.

maybe, an anemone was just added so it may have been stressed.

I have 3 blue green Chromis. One is larger and older and sometimes goes through the same thing. As well as the two younger much smaller ones, who do it more frequently than the larger one. Its new scales developing on them, they do disappear after awhile and stop doing it when they get older. And when they do grow up they turn a light blue chrome color, almost pure silver like. Its nothing to be worried about though, just a normal process. The light thing that ljv was talking about is also a valid statement.
