Default Sick Hippo Tank Real Sick!!!

I aquired a sick Hippo tang today from someone who negelected thier tank. I was told the tank's pumps / filter were turned off for 2 months or so, before they decided to get rid of 2 fish. One is a clown the other a hippo tang. Both are in bad shape, the clown,, is a pale orange and the Hippo is black. His fins are still yellow.. so I'm hopeful I can nurse him back to health. I'm thinking malnourishment
along with piss poor water quality is the sourceof why they're in such bad shape
I have both in a hospital tank with clean water and seaweed for the tank and flakes for the clown
Any suggestions on helping them heal are welcomed

Also: what would cause the Hippo to loose all his color?

Thanks

Does the hippo have HLLE? If so he can survive but will be permanently scarred.

I didnt want to say it but no thats not "dori". It is a purple tang. You might want to watch Nemo over again as that would give you more experience. I hope some one else jumps in here and helps as I cannot say what will help you the most. Some one with more experience might chime in. Good luck.

Ill agree that it looks to be a purple tang, rather than a hippo. It looks like its badly malnurished at the moment, but if its still eating a good diet can turn it around. It may or may not ever totally regrow its damaged fins, but should get its color and bodymass back.

Yes he is a Purple tang, his color is slowly coming back, he still needs a lot more healing.
I'm continuing with the water changes and nori diet, it's going to be a while before I introduce him to my main tank
