Default Banana Wrasse red spot?

I just noticed it today. It looks like it is internal though, not on the surface like a parasite. Maybe a possible injury from a fight with another fish? He does sleep in the sand at night so that may be another possibility. I have attached a picture here that is zoomed up and cropped a lot so forgive the quality:

Any possible identification for it? Or maybe someone who had a similar problem? Any input will be greatly appreciated..

Tony

Update.. I was thinking it could be a possible small blood vessel that burst. If it goes away in a week or so then I will know what it is. He does dig in the sand, so he could have moved the wrong way at the wrong time and burst a vessel. We will find out I guess..

Update.. I am almost positive that it is a burst blood vessel. If I watch long enough, I will catch him going around the glass walls looking at himself and raising his fins up. Then when no other fish are around he will start thrashing around violently, not swimming fast around the tank, but just really fast everywhere in the same spot, and this drives the other fish into a frenzy. The red spot is spreading out and hopefully he will stop doing this and causing himself internal bleeding. I will keep updating and adding pictures.

Update.. Yes, the red spot is from the wrasse thrashing around . I dont know how to stop her from doing this though. All I can do is put my finger up to the glass and she will swim away and stop doing it. The good news is, that it seems the spot is going away finally. Keep posted.

And the conclusion. Yes it was after all a burst blood vessel. The wrasse finally knew what was best for it and went to bed early in the sand. Got some extra rest and recoup, and now the red spot is almost gone.. If I knew how to close a thread I would do that, but I don't know if you can even close a thread..? I guess just use this post as a reference for anyone with a wrasse that gets a bruise from thrashing around.. Thanks to all those watching this thread, see you in another one!
