Ich can fall off fish and end up on corals, but they are not a host for ich. Ideally, all corals would get placed into a q-tank for 4-6 weeks so that you can see if they have any parasites/bugs on them such as AEFW, LRB, etc... but that involves having not only a q-tank but also either a second tank with proper lighting or never using copper in your q-tank (which is unlikely). Personally, I do try to quarantine all new corals for a short period of time and do a coral dip prior to placing them in my q-tank. My coral q-tank only has a cheap 4 bulb T5HO lighting unit over it so it isn't ideal for SPS corals, but suffices for the relatively short time that they are in there.

Nothing. Ich dies off on it's own without a host and the host needs to be a fish. The only time during the cycle that the ich parasite would be present on a coral is if it fell off a fish and landed on the coral during the reproductive stage.
