| Ich doesn't cause red lines. If they are scratching you probably have parasites. UV sterilizers only work on free-swimming parasites in the water column that have the bad fortune of getting sucked into the pump feeding the sterilizer. It would be best if you could list your livestock and water parameters so the forum members can give some informed advice. Regards, James |

| The red lines wouldn't be from ich and it could be caused by several different factors. To check for ich, keep a close eye on all of your fish for a week or more to see if you can spot some small, sugar sized white spots.
