Default Ok What Should I do !?!?!

ok heres the situation I got a blue tang with ich and heres my options

1 get a 30g rubber/plastic trash can put in a penguin bio wheel filter, air stone and a heater Should I put a piece of live rock in ?

2 get 5gal bucket with freshwater (I have no PH test yet but im guessing the waters are close in ph being from the same source) put airstone in and dip him for 5-10 min

Please help whats the best method for my means right now im guessing its 1

Yep, #1 is your best bet to rid the parasite. You may see faster results from FW dips, but sometimes the parasite returns back into the system. Quarantining is always the safest and most reassuring procedure because you wait it out and starve the bug off.. Not just on your Hippo Tang, but also in the entire ecosystem..:

Go with option #1 and treat the tang using hyposalinity treatment or copper. They are the methods that will work every time. With either method, leave all LR or other calcium sources out of the tank. Here's a good website to check out. ATJ's Marine Aquarium Site - Reference - Hyposalinity Treatment

You can use live rock. Or soak the bio wheel in your sump for a few days.

I if you use copper the rock will be fried.
