| This is normal Behavior. These fish have great personality! they kind of camouflage them selves in the night time so they are less seen by others. When they wake up they return to their vibrant yellow color. He may do this when ever he is spooked as well. |

| I appreciate the info. After studying him for a few minutes I realized that he changes color and puts his spines up as almost like a defense mechanism. I didnt know at first, but I would rather be safe than sorry! |

| Be very careful when your hands are in the tank. His spines are venomous and you could get very sick if stung by them! I got Stung recently and was sick for a day. all my research says rinse with hot water and go to the hospital! |
