How do I treat it? I don't have a QT tank. Only a 14 gallon Nano. Can I medicate the entier tank. I did before when my damsel had something with white spots on it. She is completely disease free now.

no, you need to get a seperate tank. when my clown had it, i used maeacyn. it fixed it in 2 days.

What type of tank is your 14 gal Nano and what do you have in it? Corals? Very few medications that treat fish diseases are safe for reef tanks or inverts. What type of medication did you use to treat the white spots? Please don't say copper if you have a reef tank or inverts.

I used Kanaplex. I did not have any corals in the tank at the time. right now I do have an anenome now and a lettace nudibranch. It didn't bother any of the snails or hermit crabs when I put it in b4. It doesn't say it has any copper in it.

You said it fixed it in 2 days can I put the fish in a separate tank w/o filters or anything for just 2 days to medicate him then put him back into regular tank?

I would treat for as long as the bottle suggests, and then observe after symptoms disappear for 2 weeks.

If you want to do alot of water changes i dont see why not. Filters, like small hang ons or air driven sponge filters, are usually pretty cheap though.

yeah, just add a small powerhead in there for flow, and do waterchanges appropriately.

Powerheads are just there to create water movement, correct. I don't need to have all kinds of elaborate plumbing do I? The submerged in the H2O and water goes in the intake and pushed out the outlet if I am not mistaken. I don't need any PVC for this. Sorry guys new to this fish tank thing and don't want to screw anything up. I a have a small 14 gallon nano tank that came with everything in it. It is the Oceanic Biocube. Would REALLY like to expand to 55 gallon but the old $$$ bill or lack there of is preventing that.

Thanks Becky so QT tanks are cheap and relatively easy to set up.

Cheaper than tossing your new purchases in the main tank so that everyone any their brother can get infected. You bet!
