Default Elevated Fish Sickness

Ok, so today i have posted a couple of threads about my tank being unsafe, and looking at my clown fish it looks like they are starting to show signs of what i think is ICK or something. I really dont want to lose these fish and i dont know what to do. Help!

First off, you should remove your sick fish and place them into a q-tank for treatment. If it is ich that you have, you'll want to treat all of your fish and leave the main tank fishless for 6 weeks so that all of the ich parasite will die off. If you haven't already read the "Fish Disease and ID Treatment" thread, you should read it at http://www.reefbuilders.com/forums/f...treatment.html

Once your done reading that, you should go to ATJ's Marine Aquarium Site - Reference - Marine "Ich" if it is ich and read more about ich and treatment methods. The only two sure ways to eliminate ich is hyposalinity and copper. Neither method can be used in a reef tank. I prefer hypo treatment over copper, but you need to have a refractometer to use the hypo method. Don't attempt doing hypo using a standard hydrometer since they aren't accurate enough unless you've compared it to a refractometer to know how far off yours is.

BTW - If you do a search on RB for ich, you will come up with many threads about treating ich with some very good advice in them.

Ok thank you, now should i just mix up some saltwater and put them in a tank with nothing in them? Like do i need to put live rock in it too? I was going to put them in a ten gallon aquarium using a whisper filter, or should i use the 50 gallon bio wheel? Thanks

Do you have a cleaner shrimp? That has helped me in the past. My kids call him the doctor.

Well, i came home from work and all my fish are dead....very upset about this. My corals are still looking good though and i have an emerald crab and maragrite snail that looks fine, but can they get sick as well? And no, i dont have a cleaner shrimp, that WAS going to be my next addition...

I hate to sound like the bad guy but it is said time and time again to QT everything, i dont know if you did or not but for everyone reading this problems such as ick can be so much easier when it is just that fish and you can treat it alone. Plus, you dont put anything else in danger.
