Icon14 Zebra eel breathing hard

My Zebra eel has just started breathing very hard, his head is sticking out of the rocks and is kind of size ways resting with the rock, the lionfish, tang, clowns and wrasse all seem to be just fine.

he did not take food last night or today.

What could be wrong? what can I do? =(
Any advise would be nice
Thanks

everything is fine with the tank besides the PH is a little low, but I am putting some buffer in the tank to raise it up.
he has been in the tank 1 month

From what I have read, they won't necessarily want to eat daily. For smaller ones you can get by with a biweekly feeding...less with the older ones. What are you feeding?
As far as respiration goes, I have also read that their respiration rates can vary.
They can get sick though, and you might want to make yourself familiar with acceptable treatment methods and alway QT before adding to the main tank.

i just saw a pic of a zebra eel...very nice looking eel. my snowflake eel always looks like he is breathing sorta hard, especially when he smells the piece of krill i dropped into the water. its almost immediate at how fast he can find it thru the brine shrimp. gotta get a pic of him to share.
