 what cause a fish's eye to poke out? today i noticed that one of my clown fish's eye is really poking out, almost like its swolllen. is this a type of disease that im not aware of, what cause it?  |

It is called pop eye  I am not sure if there is a link in the RB library, but you may want to check it out. http://www.reefbuilders.com/forums/g...html#post70058 I used Bacteria & Fungus Medication: Mardel Maracyn Plus at Drs. Foster and Smith and it was gone within 2 days. I also had it on my clown. If you catch it fast enough the clown will survive and be happy and in no pain in no time.

| Re: what cause a fish's eye to poke out? best bet is to set up *read* cheap QT. Add some Pvc for the lil guy to hide in, no lights necessary, about a 10 gallon tank...take water from your DT, umm lets see what am I forgetting oh a heater, and something as simple as a HOB filter or a sponge filter...then you can dose away. |

| Re: what cause a fish's eye to poke out? yeah I set up an eclipse 12 as a hospital tank but cannot catch the lil'guy. He keeps ducking between rockwork and it seems that I'm stressing him and the others out. Is maracyn plus harmful to the reef? |

| Re: what cause a fish's eye to poke out? other than catching him does anyone have any suggestions? He's in a 72g with pristine water parameters. I changes out about 12 gallons yesterday just as a good measure. I'm really worried about him. |

| Re: what cause a fish's eye to poke out? try setting up a fish trap of some sort...don't feed him for a day or two and then throw some yummies in there...you'll have him in a flash...OR...you could get two nets leave them in the tank for about a half hour, and then corner him with one and then trick him into going into the other one. |
