| The only two proven methods that will work EVERY time if done correctly are Copper and Hyposalinity. I prefer hyposalinity, but you must have a refractometer to do it, hydrometers aren't accurate enough. Either method requires treatment in a q-tank. Also, like previously mentioned, the main DT needs to remain fishless for 6 weeks to guarantee that all of the ich parasites within the tank are dead. Here's a couple links on ich treatment methods. | i had the same problem with my tank........and my fathers reef tank...what we did, was feed the fish 3 times a day up from once a day...and added garlic to the food.we also raised the temp of the tank to 82..this seemed to make the fish less stressed...all 3 of my tangs had it, and just beat it on their own....i believe ich is present in the tank...so when the fish goes in it gets stressed and get it....this same way worked for my dads reef tank...its the only thing that worked for me without using medicine...as i have lost fish in other tanks i had previously to ich....hope it helps you out.. |

| hey thanks - i thought i should start feeding them more to relieve stress. so what do you feed them ? and really how much do you feed them where it doesnt become a problem? |
