Could it maybe be microbubbles from something like a skimmer or pump?
| ||||
most likely, i have the skimmer in my sum and pumps to the other divider to the return pump so maybe a few are getiing in there and going thru the tank... but that doesn't explain the white dots on the fish....?

Hi, I had a similar problem, it killed my Tang overnight and two Clarki clowns the next day, they had no white spots though and my Algie Blennie seems fine, this happened after I put a Sea Whip in the tank, I will try garlic in future though.

Ich is usually described as "white dots" on fish, but white cotton like dots or tufts are usually a fungus. try this link to ID disease FISH DISEASE
