| It looks as if the white stuff is coming off of the fin, like it is thicker, and is slightly transparent. Other than that, the fish looks fine, but I want to treat it soon. What would be good? |

| Aparently it is Brooklynella on my clown, and I am wondering if the new Instant Ocean Lifeguard would work well. I want to treat my whole tank, since Brooklynella can stay in the tank for four weeks. But I do have inverts, my friend tried it on standard ich and it worked on his flame angel in his reef tank and caused little harm to his inverts. Any ideas? I also read fermaldihyde treatment. |

| Since nobody else is responding I will, albeit reluctantly because I have very little first hand experience with this. However, I know enough to say that it is always best to medicate outside your Display, in a quarantine. Some meds say they are reef safe, but I would aways err on the cautious side. Do you have any other fish? Do you have a QT?

| No quaentine tank, plan on getting one though, I should have it, no other fish... yet. I plan on getting a quarenteen tank as well as maybe a medication tank. But this pisses me off. I ehard good things about Live Aquaria, and I got one backorder, one dead fish, and a day later, a sick fish... Hm... well thanks for putting your advice in. |

| Quarantine, medication, and hospital tanks are one and the same thing, Mike. It's a lot simpler than you think. I would prioritize getting one set up before you do anything. Honestly, as much as we like to bash LFS...the fact is no LFS will always have 100% healthy fish. It's just not possible.

| If you haven't already, make sure to contact liveaquaria and find out if they have an arrive alive policy. Sounds to me like someone owes you some credit. All the best!

| The FISH ILLNESS section in the RB library is quite comprehensive. http://www.reefbuilders.com/forums/n...b-library.html |

| well I agree with aquasalt, I would not medicate my DT and a qurantine and hospital tank are one in the same. I know some of these meds. on the market, you have to do a massive water change, not good for your tank. setup a simple qurantine, and tell the guys you got the fish from how P/O'ed you are about thier livestock. |

| Live Aquaria has a 14 day guarantee, contact them and they will take care of you.

| Use water from your Display tank! It's ideal because it will acclimate the fish to the exact same water that they will eventually move into.
