Default FOWLR time?

Hi All,
Been a bit MIA on Reefbuilders here but my 55 reef tank is 10 months old now and doing great! I had to turn in my flame angel though and this has now got my wife and I thinking about a FOWLR tank. So I have a couple questions floating around in my brain atm and figured I hear what you all have to say.

I am thinking for space I may want to get a 100 gal corner tank. Insert toughts on corner tanks here..... or maybe a tall rectangular tank?

First since I am going FOWLR would it be a good idea to have a sump/refugium with a skimmer and power heads or could I just get away with a on the back skimmer and power heads?

Lights, I know if I am not going to be adding corals I am ok but what about Anenomies and such do they need anything?

Guess thats really the big questions.

Looking forward to your answers.
Cheers,
E

If you want a FOWLR with anemones then you will have a reef tank. Aenmones are part of a reef and therefore require strict water parameters and high lighting, I always recommend either T5s or Metal Halides.

Sump system is always a good idea, it increases your water volume making it harder for your water parameters to get out of whack quickly which gives you time to adjust what you need to keep stable water parameters.

Thanks, I have a 55gal reef tank right now and as I am looking forward it seems rather limiting of me to not think of the idea of having good enough lighting though I am not at this point considering any corals nor really anenomies for that matter but it is good to plan ahead. What is the difference between t5s and VHOs?
I have 4 VHO's on my 55.
Thanks

You can use HOB filters for a fish only. I have been using emperor 400's on my 125, along with a HOB skimmer. no nitrates. Of course I am over cautious. I have 4 -400's each rated for up to 80 gal.
