| I wouldn't bet that you won't die. There have been some cases where someone got stung & had an allergic reaction. If stung you will have a very painful wound. Best to let others in the house know about the fish & always have the first aid measures available for emergency personnel.

| well, as cyberjester had stated how i got stung. basically, it sucks. when it first stings you, its not bad, it feels like your getting a needle poked in you, then you bleed a little for about 2 minutes, then all of the sudden BAM! intense pain. maybe it was just because i got stubng on my middle finger, but i felt like my heart was in my finger. it was VERY bad pain for about30-45 minutes, then it dies down a bit. any advice i could give is to keep you appendages about 12" away at all time. mine was bout 4 and it swam towards me, and y know that lightning fast thing they do when they eat a fish?, well thats what it did when it swam towards me.

| I kep two large lion fish, never been stung. the sign to watch for is when they swim toward you with head down and spines fully extended, I think these guys are not really aggressive, unless provoked. I would still be careful, just simply keep an eye on your lion (s) |
