Default new set up

I am setting up a new 55g salt tank. I have had fresh water tanks for awhile, but want to make the jump. My main goal is to have a lion fish and some anemones for clown fish (kid loves nemo). My question is can you have live coral with these fish or is there some reason why I see lion fish mostly in fOWLR set ups? what is the advantage/disadvantage of not having coral, I figured it would be needed to have live coral to help boost natural environment variables.

The lionfish and the clowns would not get along. The lionfish would more than likely eat them. Lion fish have really big mounths and will eat almost anything it can get through it

You could keep corals with the lion. Problem you might have is when you want to stick your hand in there to arrange them or do some work. Ask e_baer what happened to him!!!

I have the same problem because of "Nemo". My children want him and I want everything else that doesn't seem to work with a clownfish! Darn that movie anyway! LOL!

I have a slightly similar situation. My wife wanted "Nemo" fish and I wanted Black "Nemo" fish. My wife demanded the normal kind. While I will enjoy them as well I still want my Black "Nemo" Fish

Darn the movie (although secretly I laugh my head off a Dory) (especially when she talks whale).

Oh, I really love the movie! I am a big Disney buff. I just meant that now all the kids want "Nemo"!

I know that when 101 Dalmations came out there was a run on Dalmation puppies. Caused quite a few to end up in rescues and shelters I hear.
