Default Our First Fish! Golden Puffer!

Hi all,

I want to introduce to you our first addition to our 90 gallon FOWLR tank. We were going to go with a reef, but when we got to the LFS my daughter fell in love with every fish that's incompatible! So, we are doing fish only. Here's our first pet, a Golden Pufferfish named "Puff". Our 3 year old named him. He is awesome and eats krill right out of our fingers. Gotta watch out for those teeth though. He'll go chomp on the live rock too, it's pretty cool. What do you think?

Thanks for looking!

Terri

Back when I was 16 (slightly over 20 years ago) my father in his 55 had a dog faced puffer and our family loved him. They have a great personality and will warm up to you in a heartbeat. We used to hand feed ours and he even let us pet him after a short while. You will love this bugger.

Someday if we get a new house that I can put a few tanks in besides my future huge reef tank I will get a FOWLR and have a puffer or two in honor of my father and my past.

Thanks so much you guys! He is fabulous and full of personality just like you say. I've been testing the water like crazy, I'm so afraid that something will go wrong. So far, so good, all the parameters are the same.

I agree that it is such a fun hobby to involve the whole family in. Thanks for the point! When I was growing up, we only had freshwater, but it was still a family trip to the LFS! Oh, and Steven, we are the same age.

Thanks again,

Terri

Hey Terri, the other strange coincidence is that not only are we the same age, also both into saltwater tanks, but I grew up in the Tampa/Clearwater area. My sister still lives in Tampa and my parents live in a little town north called Holiday. I miss all the saltwater fish stores in Florida but don't miss the traffic and the crowds.

Glad you are enjoying your puffer.

Steven
