| I'm still planning my 55. Here's my idea and a couple of questions. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. Since I am getting a 100 gallon (which will be a reef mixed tank) I want aggressive fish in my 55. I am thinking about putting a Vallentini puffer and a dwarf/zebra lionfish in it. Can I mix these two and if not what can I put in with the lionfish? Could I put a leaffish in with these? I've been reading up on aggressive fish and from what I've read if you put live rock in the tank they will more than likely eat the inhabitants of the LR making it pointless. Is this true and would I be better off without the live rock? I plan on having sand substrate. I would be okay with fluorescent lighting right? Is there a certain amount of watts per gallon I still want to stick to? |

| puffers tend to be fin nippers, so i would not mix the 2. leaf fish and lions are fine to mix. LR is not only for the visible critters, but also beneficial bacteria that aid in the breakdown of waste and diolved organics. the flourecsent light is fine for these animals, as long as no coral is added. sand would be perfect. both lionfish and leaf fish like rock to hide in. I would suggest getting a bunch of saltwater feeder shrimp if you plan on getting both of these fish.

| FOWLR for sure !! That Live Rock acts as a natural filter, the more the better IMO.
