Default geen puffer

i just got a green spotted puffer he has improved in health a lot now that i brought him home. i am a little worried though, he has a small bump on his side and 1 on his back just above the tail. there is no color dif. or nasty texture and it's hard to tell if i should be worried because of how puffs change there shape a little every now and then. this has been like it all day i've had him 2 days know. i got him sunday night. i didn't see it before but could have missed it. a picture really wouldn't help this time and me taking itits just a raised area. his activity is great and eating is good along with color. i just want to make sure theres not some common puffer problem that is the cause. thanks i'll let u know if there is a change.
ps meant GREEN lol

Amanda, what kind of fish do you have in your tank now? And what do you plan in the future?

I was just curious because puffers just love to eat tank mates.

oh, yes i read a lot before i got the fig. 8, so I was ready i just want to know if there's a dif. in the 2. I read the figure eight puffer fish is the only puffer that doesn't lose it's color as it get bigger. all my puffers need min 30g when they r bigger. My apt. is lined with tanks I have a 10g with just snails and a lot of them too.

he looks like there is a cut on 1 bump. right through the black spot. and there is a very thin white bump. it look more like a bit of skin more then ick. I might have caught it so early it's just small ick spot. None of my fish have had it but i've bought and treated 3 or 4 with it. Does it start tiny like that? I have the following; Quick Cure for ick and Melafix for the cut. Can u mix the 2? I have tetracycline too but don't want to use it and i don't think it treats ick. I want to be sure before useing med. i don't want to wait too long. I was expecting a problem when i bought him. They were not care for well. Any one that leaves about 20 puffers in one small tank over a week with them eating each other and no snails, has not read any thing on the fish. This is the last wal mart left with fish and I saw them every few days. I don't want them to be able to sell them. When you call some one from toys to get fish and they make it clear they don't know anything about fish, It makes me rather sick. The cut looks healed, more like a scare but i can't be sure. I guess i need to go and write in the right place for treatment now that it look like he has some thing. i wanted to ask here because it looked like he was just puffy in 2 places but i'm worried about the spot. I've only seen ick much much bigger or and more then 1 spot also. is it pos. that it was a wound that has healed ? theres a mark through it. They swim so actively that it's very hard to see.

I wouldn't mix meds...you could get a wicked cocktail that could wipe out the tank..

I am sorry...these are freshwater fish? If so, I would guess that you could stick with the Melafix for the injuries and ich. Might want to check up on that before putting too much faith in my words.

http://badmanstropicalfish.com/brackish/brackish.html
that has been helpfull in understanding how and where the salt is
even though the fig 8 says brackish mine was converted to full after i saw them in full salt. this place has a freind with a fig 8 that's 6 inches. though they say "they" don't get that big.

Wetwebmedia, Aquarium, Pond, Marine and Freshwater Fish, reef tanks, and Aquatics Information handles some freshwater issues, as well as salt.
