Default abusive clowns

I have a picked up a proven pair of true perculas and set them free in my big tank yesterday. awesome pair very nice markings, anyway. they took right to my condylactis and then proceeded to beat around in it so much it shriveled up and fell from its rock. it layed around most of the day I flipped it over and got it to plant again and as soon as he started to puff back up and look normal again the clowns beat him up again.. so I picked up a long tentacle anemone this evening and sure enough they took to it also and started abusing it also... until it sucked itself all up into its body... anyone have any suggestions on how to keep everyone happy?

How large are the clowns and how large are the anemone's? I don't know if that is a problem or not. I have a pair of clowns and they took right to my BTA, it would seem that they beat it a bit, but it seems to do fine, every once in a while it will curl up, but most of the time it stays open. You might try one of those, as I have heard that the clowns like them best. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your clowns.

I don't know a solution to your problem, I am sorry about that. It could just be that your two clowns are rough, or that it is the wrong type of anemone to take the abuse. Wish I could be more helpful.

the anemone is doing better now, it perked right back up after a day or so. I added the long tentacle anemone to the tank and now the pair have split and one is taking to the new anemone and the the other is still in the old one. they kicked the other clown out, he is hiding behind some rocks most of the day.I think I may take the maroon clown and the condylactis and put them in the other tank and hopefully I can get the true percs to breed.

Sounds like a good old case of "reef hazing"

WOW, I am sorry to hear that, usually it is the Maroons' that are more agressive. Hope your Percs' do well.
