Default Lionfish and live rock question

I have a 60g tank that I want to set up with a lionfish and live rock. Would I still need to set up a sump or could I use my eheim filter as there will be no corals in the tank. I have read the other posts and from what I see live sand will be the substrate with the rock, but what about the filtration? Any aswers would be greatly appreciated.

A sump in my opinion is not a necessity as I have a 55 gal with 100 lbs lr and and 60 lbs ls. Dont get me wrong it would be nice but.... I have a lion about 6 inches long a longspine urchin about 8 inches across. a 14 inch snowflake and my newest add. is a4 inch sea goblin .I have a elcheapo skimmer and a canister filter. I have no corals and everything is fine been up and running for a year.

I agree, you should be fine with your intent, I always think that more filteration is never enough LOL
