Ok guys, So here it goes.

My original plan---
My current 20 gal FOWLR, my ideal plan was to get two porc. puffers.

The current, suddenly changed plan---
I have noticed two fish at the lfs, in a tank down on the floor, pretty hidden. The poor two guys are the best of friends..and I just want to give them a good home, Also do not want them to get split up. And in July, they will have a wonderful home in my 220!! So.. These two fish I speak of are, Niger Trigger, and Picasso Trigger. Which--ironically, are two fish that I have always said I would have!
These would be my only two fish in the tank, and are very small, so I think they will be JUST fine until July.

So my MAIN question----
Will they wipe out my hermit population? I will post at the bottom of this, the articles I am reading, never do they mention hermits

Will either of the two wipe out my snails?

Does anyone here have either of these two?

Will either of them eat my coral banded shrimp?

Will they bother my Coco feather? or little baby feathers?

------------ How about my Atlantic Lettuce Slug??

Ok here are my current tankmates--

Coco Feather
11 Tiny Hermits
4 decent size snails
Coral Banded Shrimp, (Body about 2 inches)
Atlantic Lettuce Slug
Very very small blue/green Chromis, in which I will be taking to lfs.


Also-- Wow I have typed a lot!!! But here are the facts I am getting from most of the sites... in reference to both fish.

The Niger Triggerfish needs a varied diet of meaty foods including; squid, krill, clams, small fish and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their ever growing teeth.

I do not know a lot obout triggers, but depending on the size of them, they should be fine in your 20g for a few month, I mean hey, I am sure they are in that sized tank now at the lfs.....

I do not think they wil go after the snails, but am not sure about the feathers or lettuce....

Ok this is what I have found.

Certain fish are incompatible with tube worms. Madnarin Fish, blennies, filefish, pufferfish, triggerfish, and wrasses will readily see out and eat the worms. Tube worms are incompatible with invertebrates such and CBS, arrow crabs, and other crustaceans.

But, my CBS--this is the first time I have read that they do not go with feathers, and my CBS wants NOTHING to do with my feather. What do you all say??? Help here I want to save these little guys so bad...I guess I just don't want to stop here because ONE article has said no...

i have a picasso trigger...and heres what i know:
they may be okay with anything in a tank while they are juveniles but one day when they get bigger they will all of a sudden just go crazy and eat stuff and become territorial. I was told they will eat crabs and may pick at soft corals and anemones

mine is still a juvi and hes doing good. I hope he doesnt eat my bubble tip or mess with anything else lol

Thank you for your response! I think I was just overly excited. These two triggers are my fave! Before I even got into SW. And they were small enough. But I will let someone else has them that has sufficiant room right off the bat. But thank you so much for your resonse. I will be getting them when I set up my 220. I know that for sure!!

I have a clown trigger which is fairly small. He ate my skunk cleaner shrimp withing 3 days of puting him in the tank. I believe the triggers will also eat your crabs and snails and will tear appart the feather duster. Even my choc chip starfish got eaten. There are so many pro's of having triggers, but there is also a huge con about having triggers - they eat anything and everything, but they are such a cool fish. I love having a trigger.

Mine clown trigger eats all kinds of meaty foods. I mix it up every couple of days between LFS bought frozen cubed mysis shrimp, conch, and muscle. I also go to the grocery store and buy fresh shrimp with shells on and muscles (uncooked). My meat eating fish love that stuff.

I am not sure on the compatibility with two such similar triggers. They may seem like best buddies now, but when they mature they may fight each other.

Best bet is to google trigger fish and get all the info you can on them before purchasing them. Then you have to come to terms with never having crabs, snails, especially shrimp, and other inverts in your tank, because (believe me from experience) they will get eaten.
