i have heard adding triggers can be hit or miss. the niger is supposedly the mildest of the bunch and "COULD" be reef safe. i have heard that from a few LFS. they never give you a straight answer though...cuz ya never know. for all they know..the trigger could have a charlie manson gene and go berzerk on your tank. i am a gambler though so the thought of adding a very small niger into my 29gallon has crossed my mind but i have yet to ever find one the size i want..most are already sold at the size when i would think you would need to remove them. if you do get any..let us know.

I believe I am going to go and pick up the Niger and Picasso. But the deal is.. I don't want my coco harmed, I love him!!!!! So any words on them with the Coco would be great.
I will keep monthly photos up of them, and their sizes. For people that are interested in keeping them for a smaller thank. Then maybe it will help someone with a general idea of how long they will have until having to upgrade tank size. I will be putting the fish in a 220g in July, so 6 months in a 20g.

Anyways, my question... Coco and triggers? Good mix?!?!

You could always make a box around your coco with some egg crate if you notice them picking at it. Wouldnt look that great for pics and stuff, but it is better than losing the worm...

I keep a niger in a reef tank. He dosent bother anything. I have a picaso in a tank on his own. He attacks anything that moves.

And I was afraid of that! That one would be bad, and the other would be 'ok'. If it comes down to it, maybe I should make an... egg crate cage for the feather, but I don't know, I still wish someone had experience with them being in with feathers! Just to give me comfort. THanks for your guys' imput!

In our eel tank we have a picaso, Black Niger, and a Clown Trigger. Regrefully no surviving Feather dusters.

That's why I have my coco and dusters in my nano.

My comuity tank has a niger. again no surviving dusters. And we feed well!

Darn it!!! Thank you for your response though, I love my Coco, and will not risk his life, over a fish that I can get anytime. Thanks again!!

Try a Blue Jaw trigger or A Hawian Black trigger or a Sargassum trigger. These are all reef safe. Just make sure to feed them well!!
