Wow on my computer it looks like a powerhead. I think i need a retune. It could be anything from foreign debris to media to snail boggers. Im sure you have and will see the snails. There hard and curly and there web like stuf will hang out. They are fishing for food. There are a few ID sites out there. Just goto google and type in " reef tank hitch hikers. There will be sites and you can goto images for pics. Im sure YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. has vids of some. Im not saying beleive everything you see or read. Take everything with a grain of salt and ask 3 or 4 sources so you can then make a more educated decision.GL..

for those of you guys that did a little research to try and help me out i appreciate it. i feel retarted saying that i have come to find out that the white string like things in my tank are my sailfin tangs poop. i noticed it yesterday when i was feeding the fish that he took a huge crap and it was stringy and messy.

Sounds more like a Terebellidae worm (spaghetti worm). Please see this section of my hitch hiker pages for more details. It will be towards the bottom of the page. Worm Hitch Hikers Chuck
