Identification What in the heck is growing on my glass, corals, etc. Not sure what it is? Post here and we'll see if we can figure it out!

Icon5 little fish in beach surf - ID?

Can anyone identify either of these two small fish. I caught them both in the surf at the beach.

The fatter one looks like it might be a jack crevalle, pompano or permit, but it did not try to eat the other one....and I put a 2 very, very small (less than 1") of the other one in the tank just to see if it would eat it.
