Default Brown Stuff

I have a brown growth on my glass and all of my fixtures. My cleaners don't seem to be able to clean it. Not sure if it is algae - it looks like rust......but I don't think that's what it is since I got my water from the store. I seem to remember having a similar brown substance when I started my freshwater tank.....

What you're seeing are diatoms. Typical with a new tank. What kind of cleaners do you have? Silicates can also contribute to the problem.
