Default Monster! in my tank

So, we were up late working on a Friday (I know, nerds) and my fiancee screams come over to the tank... I grabbed it out with some tongs.

I think it's a huge flatworm (quarter on right for scale), but I'm not sure... any ideas?

Looks like a cool creature for sure.

Thanks Jim, it's very thin... maybe 2-3mm and I think I found a pic that
matches, see: Phrikoceros mopsus Polyclad Flatworm

It was in the seahorse tank so we removed it, it's about 3" long!

Yep a polyclad flatworm, pretty cool looking but can be problematic in a reef. I cant remember what all they eat, but i wouldnt risk them around clams and snails.

Thanks guys! We still have no idea how it got in there (hitchhiker for sure), but it is certainly pretty cool (though my future wife doesn't think too much of it ;-)

It was in our seahorse tank, which is fed quite a lot of mysis... we are always finding crazy things in there, especially at night.

I really appreciate the help and info!

I know you guys have already answered this one- but are you sure? Does it look like that worm, or does it look like a mushroom coral?
Singapore Celebrates our Reefs!: Mushroom hard corals: Godzilla of Hard Corals

At first I was trying to find a plate coral- but mushroom fits just as well, with the slit-like formation in the pic.

Just checking-

Michelle, I wish you were right. But, the critter was caught while crawling up the glass (pretty fast too ;-) It's a polyclad flatworm for sure.

Nice find on those mushrooms... very pretty!
Thanks!
