tiny medusas in my aquarium Hello,
I am kind of new to the hobby. I have mixed reef (both a 20 and a 75 Ga) aquaria. I have been noticing these little jelly-fish thingis that pop out in the water every few days.
They are about 1/4 inch diameter, short tentacles, and a foot that protrudes down the umbrella part. They are brownish-transparent and they pump pretty fast (I would say about 3 Hz). The question is, What are they????
I have been trying to find out, and at teh beginning I thought they were the medusa stage of a hydroid. However, mine do not look like the pic they show, and I have not "detected" hydroids in the tank (unless I am missing them by pure ignorance). For one thing, mine have very short tentacles, and the foot appears much longer than the one shown in pictures.
Anybody has any suggestions?
Thanks! |
