Identification What in the heck is growing on my glass, corals, etc. Not sure what it is? Post here and we'll see if we can figure it out!

hey guys n gals i have found a new crab in my lr hes about a half dollar in size lots of black and some bands of white tons of somewhat white hairs all over he is a very musclebound crab any ideas reef safe ???

Hard to tell for sure without a picture but it could be either of the Xanthid species (not reef safe) or of the Mithrax species (usually deemed not reef safe.) If posting a picture is not possible, Google both species and see if you can find a possible match to the same crab in your tank.
