| Identification What in the heck is growing on my glass, corals, etc. Not sure what it is? Post here and we'll see if we can figure it out! |

 small white star looking things all on glass I was wondering if this is a good or bad thing. I noticed today that I have these small, as small as a pin head, looking white star things attached to the glass of my tank. Can anyone tell me what these things may be and if they are good or bad.   |

| Re: small white star looking things all on glass I've had these before in my first saltwater tank, a 75 gal. If I read you right, they've got 5-6 arms and grow to be about 1/4" They're some type of starfish. My LFS had them all over the place and are a great detrius eater. |

| Re: small white star looking things all on glass I have a few of these myself. I have done some reading here and there. Maybe micro brittal stars. Really not a problem. Functional as detritus eaters. I read that they are great as long as you don't have a tendency to overfeed as their populations can easily increase.
