Default Bugs lol

I have little flea looking things in my tank that show up at night when hit with a flashlight...i am assuming copepods. I also have things that are showing on my glass on snails shells etc that are white and curl...baby snails? I also have some star looking creatures any ideas?

so I read your post and thought nothing of it then after looking at my tank I noticed the same thing, I have known I had pod's in my tank for a while but I noticed the same curly white "tubes" growing on my glass and in some other places. I dont know that they are either. Then I noticed the little star looking creatures growing on my glass! there like a little circles of an almost pink toned shade of white with about 5 of these little "arms" that appear to move in the flow. I'm curious too having noticed them, Does anyone know what they are? i'm going to try to get a picture but they are very small

Thanks,
Ryan

Well, the curled up guys are probably copepods (pods), and are common in most tanks and refugiums. They are dinner for guys like Wrasses and Mandarin Gobies.

The other guys are a type of jelly fish called a Cladonema jellyfish. Most tanks have them, or atleast seem to. They come and go, so you may have them one day, and then just not another. It's pretty amazing. I just had a ton in my tank, and now there are nearly none on the glass 2 days later.

oops, sorry, I meant amphipods, not copepods. I am basing that on this link and ID for what a amphipod is (top left image on page).

They don't move though...i think they are a type of tube worm...the kind that makes the tube out of calcium. I just recently got a yellow tang he is loving his new home and is definitely fun to watch

Yea, I agree, it seems like more of a tube worm with a calcium shell..
