Default Galaxia question

Hello,
I am relatively new to the hobby and see something that appears at least to my untrained eye questionable. My galaxia seems to be covered with either death or it's reproducing or who knows... Anyone have any ideas as to what this thing is doing? Here is a pic...

Thanks in advance,
Joel

Joel,

By the looks of your picture the galaxia is being killed by algae. Those corals need ALOT of current. They are very dense and therefore algae can build up where the naked eye cant see. Then it will overgrow the coral. Try moving it so a powerhead is blowing over it, or on the side of it, not too directly but enough so you can see the coral tentacles swaying a bit.

If you cant get it to show signs of recovery in a week or 2. I would consider cutting the dead area off and trying to save it that way. After cutting it then dose some iodine to help it recover.

Let us know if it comes back.

Thanks guys.... Kev.. It was totally alive for the last 45 days or so in the tank and seemed happy. I have removed it already because as of yesterday it was totally dead.
Water was/is perfect and everything else in the tank seems to be thriving. Current makes sense. Appreciate the feedback.
Joel
