Default Something under Xenia

What is this? Its attatched to the live rock at the base of some Xenia. The Xenia is shrinking and this stuff is getting bigger and starting to spread down the rock. I know I have seen this in a pic before and now I just cant find it. Any ideas? Cant be good!

In reference to the posted picture, I believe the stuff you are refering to is in the upper rt corner. Those are green star polyps. Mine spread about an inch a month.

Oh yeah, they are good if you want to cut them off when it gets too much and take it to the lfs for credit or sell them on frags.org, here or craigslist.

Yes those would be star polyps in the upper portion of the pic. What I am referring to is attatched to the rock under the xenia. It is pink and red in color and I think has stunted the growth of this colony. I took the pic at night after the xenia closed up so you could see this better.

Are you sure the red stuff isn't red slime algae? The pinkish stuff should be coralline algae. Coralline can also be a bit on either the red or white side.
