 aptasia and what else????????? hi everyone, 55 gal 50 lbs LR parameters good live sand etc. im pretty sure that i have at least 2 aptasia (anems?) my problem is that i have other things growing that look similar except their not clear their reddish brown. 1 has blueish/purpleish tips no trunk 1 is light brown no trunk 1 is clear with blue spots spaced out on every tentacle. alot of very small tentacles not like the others i dont think that i can get pictures of them because they are so small but i will try to. aptasia i have read is bad. why ? can i just rip it off?

| Re: aptasia and what else????????? Everyone is going to have an answer for how to get rid of the problem. I use Joe's Juice. You want to get it nipped in the bud. Blue tips? That I do not know. Why is your problem so bad? What are your parameters like? Aiptasia is a pest that can spread easily and sometimes environmental issues can make it worse. Do not yank it off the rocks unless you want a few more to take its place.

| Re: aptasia and what else????????? You only inject Joe's Juice into the aiptasia so you will not harm the good stuff with it. I prefer getting a peppermint shrimp to get rid of them. Difficult to tell what those things are from the pictures.

| Re: aptasia and what else????????? There are serveral types of aptasia and your pics look like just that. I bought 3 peppermint shrimp and now they are gone... HIPPY, no hastle and something cool to watch.

| Re: aptasia and what else????????? bought a peppermint shrimp today its small but thats all they had. hopefully when he comes out of hiding theyll start to dissapear. if not then ill juice them!!! a buddy stoppedby today and the last picture is a feather duster. we still dont know what the middle pic is it has thin arms or tentacles with blue tips. well looks neat. find out when it gets bigger
