| calcareous sponge. Harmless. They will come and go depending on the nutrients in your water. Make sure you clean your equipment clean, they will sprout anywhere!

| I have the same thing, but I dont think they are the calcareous sponge after researching them. Any other guesses?

| Ok, well Rlcline called them calcareous sponges, and I could not fund too much on them and seen pictures that looked different. You call them Sycon, and I did find more info and this is what they are. They seem to just be little live water filters from what I have read. Thanks all.
